Working with nature, using your hands, get connected with driving forces-
When working with children and young people, creative and handicraft work has the power to release inner potential and strengthen self-esteem. Under this approach, I do creative youth work in cooperation with various social institutions. The focus is on the natural, intuitive development of young people's potential, regardless of their social background. The goal behind is to create sustainable educational places.
WE meet in NATURE
Dye Workshop
Within the framework of the theme "WE meet in NATURE", the conscious confrontation with sustainable materials should sensitize the young people for the potential of nature and successively bring sustainability closer.
During the workshops, the young people should gain an understanding of natural dyeing processes and techniques and discover their own wealth of ideas by applying them.
Avocado pits collected from restaurants
Approaching “waste” differently, we used avocado pits collected form restaurant to produce natural dye.
Handwork preparation
Cutting something with your hands seems a normal thing to do. But for some teenagers it is actually a rare experience.
Boiling avocado pits is approaching recycling processes
Using resource which actually meant to be thrown away as base to create self-made natural dye.
Sustainable production
Highlighting sustainable production methods is helping to understand the value of things.
Beauty of nature
Getting insights into natural dying processes is helping to clarify what beauty we find in nature.
Different techniques to wrap it up
Serving different possibilities to wrap up a fabric during a dye workshop arouses childlike curiosity.
What do you want to do?
Creating dye can be the first step of getting into a creative process. The intuitive expedition of trying out different things starts with applying it individually.
